From dress to skirt - D'une robe à une jupe

Sorry about being late with this post. My computer and Blogger weren't agreeing with me this morning.

I've been wanting to do this project for at least a year. I had a sundress that didn't fit me anymore but I love the pattern and colour of its fabric so I decided to cut into it and transform it. Last night, I finally pulled it out with some thread and finished the waist band. Nothing fancy. I folded the fabric twice and hand-stitched it in place. Since the waist was a bit big, I cut two slits in the front and slipped in some excess fabric to make a belt/sash. Not bad for my first clothes alteration.

Ça faisait plus d'un an que je voulais faire ce projet. J'avais une robe de soleil qui ne me fesait plus mais j'aimais beaucoup le motif et la couleur du tissu alors j'ai décidé de coupé dedans et de la transformer. Hier soir, je l'ai finalement resortie ainsi que du fil et j'ai fait la finition de la tailler. Rien de fantastique. J'ai replié le tissu deux fois puis je l'ai cousu en place à la main. Comme la tailler était un peu grande, j'ai coupé deux ouvertures et y ai enfilé une longueur de tissu excédentaire pour faire un sorte de ceinture. Pas mal pour ma première altération de vêtements.
