Last week, I saw a tutorial on how to make upcycled art with old books. It was simple to do and I loved the overall effect. So I tried one and this 5x7 piecet. The artist who put together this tutorial has embarked on a year long challenge of creating a new piece of art every day. Click over to her site to see the gorgeous art she has created so far. I absolutely love her style. And I'm inspired to use my canvas boards again!

This is VERY cool, Sophie! I checked out the tutorial and want to give the technique a try. I really like her work, too. I became a Facebook fan of her.
I like your painting! Thanks for the links....they both look great. I'm going to try that technique as I have all kinds of old books that aren't any good.
Your book is wonderful and I really love your grid page, so much interesting detail and rich color! Thank you for your comment on my blog, I'm behind on my blogging for the week . . . too busy being obsessed with the grids, I guess, lol
I'm so glad to see that you enjoyed this technique, and best of luck to Laura and Janet! Thank you, Sophie, for sharing my blog with your readers. I will be publishing more mixed media techniques on instructables soon. :) Merci encore!
