Changes

So... March is well on its way and I haven't taken a single photo for this month. I don't know why. I've had opportunities though. I guess I was too busy thinking about other things.

In one week, McCabe will be starting her Mermaid Warriors class online. I'm all signed up and very excited about this class. This is one of the many steps I'm taking to following my dream. Well, one of my dreams anyway.

The past week was "spring break" around here, though it's not spring yet. The weather is milder and I've seen the sun a lot more. I can't wait for the weather to be nice enough to go out without a coat and boots.

I haven't been working in my art journal a lot lately. Lack of inspiration you could say. But I have been writing. I feel the need to write these days so I just go with the flow. Sometimes I write nonsense. Every day I write a poem. Sometimes in French, sometimes in English. I never know what's going to appear on the page. It's a surprise even to me. I have all these stories in my head that want to come out so I'm trying to get my thoughts and ideas organized a little at a time. It's not easy but it sure is fun.

I've been doing some cleaning too. A little bit at a time. There's lots of stuff that I need to get rid of. Books, CDs (still), clothes that don't fit or that I don't wear, decorative items I no longer like... LOTS of stuff. It can be scary sometimes. But I will get the job done, not because I have to but because I want to.

As you may have noticed, I changed the name of my blog. Although I do want to focus on the good things in life, I'm well aware that I must also acknowledge the bad things and they might get blogged about sometimes too. I like this new title. It fits. Now, if only I knew how to make banners, I'd put one together that fits too. Maybe another time.

Please hold...

Until further notice, this blog is on hold. You can still find me on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr as well as through email. I don't have the energy to update the blog at this moment and I have too much to do in real life to get bothered with it. I will still be visiting blogs even if I don't comment as much as I used to. I guess it's just that time of year for me...

Missing in action

Day 28 - Friendship

Except for entering many many OWOH giveaways, clicking through the 910 other blogs on there and uploading to Flickr, I haven't been very active on the internet. The reason is simple. I'm obsessed with a certain group of vampires. No, not the Cullens from Twilight. That was a nice little read. Now, it's time for The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I can't get enough of these books. I've read 3 books in one week!

I've been trying to get artsy and creative every day. Some days, it's a few doodles in the art journal, or adding something on chunky pages for a swap and every single day, I write a poem. Yep, since January 1st, I've been writing a poem a day (I only forgot one day so far!) Sometimes it's a full page, sometimes a few verses and other times a haiku. Sometimes it's not even a full poem, just ideas for something else that might get written one day. Like, maybe, a book for young readers. Maybe.

I'm still working on a lot of projects, my brain working overtime some days. But, overall, I feel good and I'm happy with the way things are going.

Oh yeah, I missed my 2nd Blogiversary on January 14th with all the anticipation of OWOH but that's ok. I'll try to post again soon with some artwork. Remember that you can always look at my Flickr album where you can find photos for a project done with iHanna.

Edited to add: All OWOH prizes from MamanKoolAid and myself have been mailed.

One World One Heart Giveaway

Photo
Comments are now closed. Thanks for participating. Winners (3 of them) will be announced on Feb. 12th around 1pm EST.

It is that time of year again. The One World-One Heart event is starting today. Click on the badge to go to the main event's blog where you can find a list of everyone who is offering a giveaway for this year's event.

This year, I am giving away a handmade button keyring. Well actually, for every 100 comments, there will be a prize. So more entries = more prizes. Which gives you more chances to win.

The key rings are made from metal wire and a variety of buttons both old and new as well as a bead at the bottom (you can see the red bead on the green key ring.) Only 2 are pictured but as soon as comments go over 200, I will make another one. Or two. Or three! (Winners will NOT choose colours of their prize.)

So, how can you get a chance to win one of these fabulous prizes? Very easy. Leave ONE (1) comment on this post (not any other post on my blog) and have an active blog (meaning that you update it at least once a month) or a valid email address (leave it in the comments or have it on your Blogger profile). You do NOT need to be a OWOH participant. Anyone can participate BUT I need to have a way to contact winners. Most people follow these requirements but if there is no way for me to contact you, I will remove your name from the entries.

Winners will be announced on February 12th. Good luck!

52Q

Once again, I've embarked on a journaling journey. I've been inspired to take part in Emily Falconbridge's "52Q" project. Each week, she will post a question on her blog and those who participate make a page in whatever form they choose (I picked the tag since I never worked with those before) and answer the question in their own way.

This is the title page for my tag book. I haven't decided yet how I will bind the whole thing. It all depends on how fat the final book becomes. My plan is to write/stamp/print the question on the front of the tag and have the answer on the back. And I want to keep embellishments to a minimum. So I'm using leftover pieces from other projects and trying to use those pesky rub-ons that I can't seem to get rid of!

I'm being creative every day so far by either drawing, painting, collaging or writing in one of my many journals. And since January 1st, I've been writing short poems daily, before going to bed, which is helping me deal with depression amongst other things. (There. It's out.) Although I am being creative on a daily basis, my muse isn't coming out to play which is sad in a way. Maybe I'm trying to hard...
