Photo Friday #14 - Vendredi Photo #14

It's been raining all week around here but I'm lucky enough to have a hint of spring in my bedroom. I received these beautiful flowers from my family after my show Sunday night. I love that they are the first and last thing I see every day.

Depuis le début de la semaine, il pleut mais j'ai la chance d'avoir un soupçon de printemps dans ma chambre à coucher. J'ai reçu ces belles fleurs de ma famille dimanche soir après mon spectacle. J'aime qu'elles soient la première et dernière chose que je vois chaque jour.

Diesel loves to hide in my reusable shopping bags. And she loves to play with pieces of paper. I could not resist this shot.

I'm going to be busy all weekend with my bellydance show. I'm nervous but excited. Hopefully I will have some photos to share with you, at least of my costumes.

J'ai une fin de semaine occupée avec mon spectacle de baladi. Je suis nerveuse mais excitée. J'espère avoir des photos à partager avec vous, au moins de mes costumes.

Photo Friday on a Monday - Vendredi photo un lundi

Last Friday, I forgot my Photo Friday post! Blame it on the excitement of a 4-day weekend. So instead, today, I have 2 low quality photos of wonderful animal sightings from yesterday.

Vendredi dernier, j'ai oublié mon article du Vendredi photo. Je blâme l'excitation d'une fin de semaine de 4 jours. Alors, aujourd'hui, j'ai 2 photos de basse qualité qui vous montre des rencontres merveilleuses avec des animaux au cours de la journée d'hier.

 Here, you can see a lot of Canadian Geese spotted in the morning. While the sun was setting, we passed an area where there were hundreds if not thousands of them flying and landing. It was magnificent!

Ici, vous pouvez voir beaucoup d'outardes vues le matin. Au moment du coucher du soleil, nous avons passé un espace où il y avait des centaines sinon des milliers d'outardes qui volaient et atterrissaient. C'était magnifique!

 And here, in the lighter circle, you can barely see it but it's a bunny, down the street from my parents' house. Yes, a wild bunny on Easter. What are the chances?!?

Et ici, dans le cercle plus pâle, vous pouvez à peine voir un lapin, au bout de la rue où habitent mes parents. Oui, un lapin sauvage à Pâques. Drôle de coïncidence!?!

I received some roses on Monday. One of them unfortunately lost a lot of petals the next day but it meant a good opportunity to take a photo. I wish I could add fragrance to this photo!

J'ai reçu des roses lundi. Malheureusement, l'une d'entre elle a perdu beaucoup de pétales le jour suivant mais ça m'a permis de prendre cette photo. J'aurais aimer ajouter une fragrance à cette photo!

The sun was shining brightly. I opened my windows to air out my apartment. Birds were chirping everywhere. And I caught sight of this one, as if he were calling out to me.

Spring really is in the air.

Le soleil brillait de plein feu. J'ai ouvert les fenêtres pour aérer mon appartement. Les oiseaux chantaient partout. Et j'ai apperçu celui-ci, comme s'il m'appelait.

Le printemps est vraiment à nos portes.

At the beginning of the week, I mention there would be an announcement today. Well, I'm happy to tell you that I will be opening my online shop this Sunday! My first items for sale will be the greeting card journals in the photo above and the felt leaves from last week. I hope to add more items over time so if there are things I do that you would like to see for sale, let me know!

Au début de la semaine, j'ai mentionné qu'il y aurait une annonce spéciale aujourd'hui. Et bien, je suis heureuse de vous annoncer que j'ouvrirai ma boutique virtuelle ce dimanche! Mes premiers items à vendre seront les journaux carte de souhait ci-haut et les feuilles en feutrine de la semaine dernière. J'espère ajouter d'autres items éventuellement alors s'il y a des choses que je fais que vous aimeriez voir à vendre, dites-le moi!

Over on Wild Precious, the very first prompt for the Shutter Babes group is up. The theme: "The end of winter in..." I decided to go with a less obvious take on the subject by photographing the skirts and dresses in my closet, which I tend not to wear during winter. And such pretty colours they have!

Du côté de Wild Precious, la première invitation à créer dans le groupe Shutter Babes est affiché. Le thème: "La fin de l'hiver dans..." J'ai décidé de répondre au sujet de façon moins évidente en photographiant les jupes et robes dans mon placard, ne les portant pas particulièrement en hiver. Et quelles belles couleurs elles ont!

I've been wanting for a while to try light painting but never did it. Until last night. My first try: a heart. The photo was cropped and I darkened the shadows in Picasa but that's it.

Il y a un bon moment que je voulais essayer le light painting mais ne l'ai jamais fait. Jusqu'à hier soir. Mon premier essai: un coeur. La photo a été coupée et j'ai assombrit les ombres dans Picasa mais c'est tout.

Photo Friday #4 - Photo Vendredi #4

These past two weeks have been all about new experiences for me. Mostly, good experiences. And I was able to accept the bad ones for what they were and then move on. I'm still learning, still growing. And in a way, I hope I always will.

Les deux dernières semaines m'ont fait vivre de nouvelles expériences. Des bonnes pour la plupart. Et j'ai été capable d'accepter les mauvaises pour ce qu'elles étaient et de continuer mon chemin. J'apprends et je grandis encore. Et d'une certaine façon, j'espère que ce sera toujours le cas.

Today, I'm showing you a photo of my movie reel. The subject of the photo is more or less important here. What I wanted to do is to look at it from a different angle, a different perspective. And create some sort of flow. I think I have achieved just that. This is the kind of photo I would frame and hang on my wall... if I didn't already have the real thing!

Aujourd'hui, je vous montre une photo de ma roue de cinéma. Le sujet de la photo est plus ou moins important ici. Ce que je voulais faire c'est de le regarder d'un angle différent, avec une perspective différente. Et je voulais créer une sorte de fluidité. Je pense que j'y suis parvenue. C'est le genre de photo que j'encadrerais et accrocherais sur mon mur... si je n'avais pas déjà le sujet original!

Photo Friday #3 - Vendredi photo #3

This week, a photo of my collection of nesting dolls. I've had the cow since I was a teenager (if not longer,) the one in the forefront I received last summer (made in USSR,) the one in the background was bought at a craft fair (wood-burned + painted by hand) and the bear one is from my early childhood. They are all different and I love them all.

Cette semaine, une photo de ma collection de poupées gigognes. J'ai la vache depuis mon adolescence (si ce n'est pas avant,) celle à l'avant ma été donnée l'été passé (fait en URSS,) celle à l'arrière a été achetée dans une foire artisanale (pyrogravée et peinte à la main) et l'ours date de me tendre enfance. Elles sont toutes différentes et je les aime toutes.

Photo Friday #2 - Vendredi Photo #2

 While at my parents' house this week, I played with my camera a bit. The light was nice that afternoon. I even took some macro shots of a few things. This one is my favourite.

Alors que j'étais chez mes parents cette semaine, je me suis amusée avec ma caméra. La lumière était belle cet après-midi là. J'ai même pris quelques photos macros de plusieurs choses. Voici ma préférée.

 

This flower is actually at the top of this plant which is in the living room's bay window. After a few searches, I found this on Wikipedia. Funny thing, we've always called it "Japanese Hat."

Cette fleur est en fait au haut de cette plante qui se trouve dans la bay-window du salon. Après quelques recherches, j'ai trouvé ceci sur Wikipédia. Étrange, nous l'avons toujours appellée "Chapeau Japonais."

In an effort to use my cameras for something other than my art/craft projects, I will now post photos on Fridays.

Pour faire un effort et me servir de mes caméras pour autre chose que mes projets d'art/artisanat, j'afficherai maintenant des photos les vendredis.
