New acquisition - Nouvelle acquisition

Last Friday, I spent another day shopping and hanging out with CeeCee and my mother. And in the back of a fun little store, I fell in love. With this set of vintage suitcases! They are in very good condition except for a few snags on the inside but since they will mostly be used for storing, I don't mind. The round one though, I will probably use if I go away for a few days. When I saw the price tag, at first, I didn't want to pay that much. But then, the store owner made me an offer I couldn't refuse. They look so pretty in my bedroom!

Vendredi dernier, j'ai passé une autre journée de magasinage et flânage avec CeeCee et ma mère. Et c'est à l'arrière d'une boutique amusante que je suis tombée amoureuse. Avec cet ensemble de valises! Elles sont en très bonne condition à l'exception de quelques accros à l'intérieur mais puisqu'elle serviront surtout à du rangement, ça ne me dérange pas. Cependant, j'utiliserais probablement la ronde si je part pour quelques jours. Quand j'ai vu le prix, au début, je ne voulais pas dépenser autant. Mais le propriétaire de la boutique m'a fait une offre que je ne pouvais refuser. Elles sont si jolies dans ma chambre à coucher!

 

Project ReStyle #9

While sorting through boxes of stuff in my mom's studio, I found this little rooster from Fisher Price. I decided to turn him into a pendant. I drilled a hole on his back and then, using some beads and wire, transformed him. Now that I know how to use my father's drill press (thanks mom!) I have new ideas popping in my head.

En fouillant dans les boites de matériel dans l'atelier de ma mère, j'ai trouvé ce petit coq de Fisher Price. J'ai décidé de le changer en pendentif. J'ai percé un trou sur son dos puis, avec des perles et du fil de métal, l'ai transformé. Maintenant que je sais comment me servir de la perceuse à colonne de mon père (merci maman!) j'ai plein d'idées qui me viennent en tête.

Buttons, buttons, buttons - Boutons, boutons, boutons

Last Monday, CeeCee, my mother and I went to a store I had heard about a few years ago. A buttons & ribbons store. We spent over an hour in the store, mostly digging through this huge pile of buttons for the most interesting ones! The box is one foot deep and in the photo, you're seeing about 2/3 of it's length. My mother "dove in" first!

Lundi dernier, CeeCee, ma mère et moi sommes allées à une boutique dont j'avais entendu parlé il y a plusieurs années. Une boutique de boutons et rubans. Nous y avons passé plus d'une heure, principalement à fouiller cette énorme pile de boutons pour les plus intéressants! La boîte mesure environ 30 cm de profondeur et dans la photo, vous voyez environ les 2/3 de sa longueur. Ma mère fut la première à "plonger"!
