Crossing off my to-do's

In less than a week, I have started and completed a scrapbooking project (The free class I blogged about in January) and I finished another project: Scrap Your Day (a year of photos and scrapbooking.) I feel really good about this. I am also up to date on the 52Q prompts. Now I just need to make an art journal as my "sample" for my art camp this summer. And I don't want to use a store bought journal so I think I'm going to make my own with old book covers, watercolour paper and my Bind-It-All.

On my mind

The weather's been nice.

I went for a walk on Sunday. 45 minutes. Didn't take a single photograph even though I had my camera with me. Instead, I focused on the sounds.

I made a very simple journal page about it.

The Mermaid Warrior class has been postponed until next Sunday.

Tomorrow morning, I'm going to a craft class with my mother. It will be fun.

I've completed and mailed all swaps for which I was signed up. I am now taking a break from swaps and trades. I need to make art for myself.

I want to play with my cameras more. Today's art is a photo I took with my digital camera, through the viewfinder of my Duaflex II camera. I like the old, washed out feel of it. I need to experiment with this more.

And I want to find a place where I can get nice prints of my photos and artwork at a decent price. And preferably around Montreal.

That's it for now. Hope you had a nice St-Patrick's Day.

Changes

So... March is well on its way and I haven't taken a single photo for this month. I don't know why. I've had opportunities though. I guess I was too busy thinking about other things.

In one week, McCabe will be starting her Mermaid Warriors class online. I'm all signed up and very excited about this class. This is one of the many steps I'm taking to following my dream. Well, one of my dreams anyway.

The past week was "spring break" around here, though it's not spring yet. The weather is milder and I've seen the sun a lot more. I can't wait for the weather to be nice enough to go out without a coat and boots.

I haven't been working in my art journal a lot lately. Lack of inspiration you could say. But I have been writing. I feel the need to write these days so I just go with the flow. Sometimes I write nonsense. Every day I write a poem. Sometimes in French, sometimes in English. I never know what's going to appear on the page. It's a surprise even to me. I have all these stories in my head that want to come out so I'm trying to get my thoughts and ideas organized a little at a time. It's not easy but it sure is fun.

I've been doing some cleaning too. A little bit at a time. There's lots of stuff that I need to get rid of. Books, CDs (still), clothes that don't fit or that I don't wear, decorative items I no longer like... LOTS of stuff. It can be scary sometimes. But I will get the job done, not because I have to but because I want to.

As you may have noticed, I changed the name of my blog. Although I do want to focus on the good things in life, I'm well aware that I must also acknowledge the bad things and they might get blogged about sometimes too. I like this new title. It fits. Now, if only I knew how to make banners, I'd put one together that fits too. Maybe another time.
