February 1st - 1er Février

It wasn't my intention to stop posting during the One World One Heart event. The last week has been kind of chaotic, especially because I hadn't been sleeping well. But things seem to be back on track now so here I am, with a brand new post.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to join in Hanna's handmade postcard swap (for more info on this, click on the badge in my sidebar.) I had no idea what kind of postcards I'd make but I was happy to have a new project to work on. In the photo above, you can see my first 5 (out of 10) postcards. The bases are all cut from cereal boxes (recycling at its best) covered with Gesso, some in white, some in black. Since these are postcards and they might have to brave the elements of nature, I had to make sure to use mostly waterproof products for the paints and markers. So I used a lot of permanent markers, acrylic paint and China markers (which I've had since I was a kid.) Of course, the papers aren't waterproof but I'm taking my chances. After all, that's what life (and art) is about right? Taking chances.

Beautiful postcards - all of them so different but well made. Those houses are very cool, and the patchwork one is my favorite! :-)

Wonderful postcards! The folks who get them will love them!

Good luck on the sleep. I have trouble with that myself. I was up until almost 6 a.m. today before I finally was able to sleep for a bit. Hope it gets better for you.
