Winners - Gagnantes

I love making journals out of recycled materials. The paper for the pages was leftover from previous journals. I used the box from marshmallow squares to make the covers.

Last week, I decided to have a giveaway for my 600th post. Since I only received 4 comments (one of which is from my mother,) I decided not to pick a name and to give a journal to each of them. My mom left a comment without participating but she can get custom journals any time she wants! So, Janet, CeeCee and Melissa, you are all winners! Let me know which type of journal you prefer from my 365 project and you'll get it as soon as possible!

As it turns out, I am not able to create one journal per day but I still plan to make 365 journals in one year. So, some days will see more than one type of journal being constructed while other days will be about gathering materials and inspiration (I already have 4 books on making journals and books by hand.) Over the long weekend, I've managed to create 3 different models.

Spiral bound game board journals.
Journaux à spirales avec planches de jeux.

Single sheet mini journals (2 different types of folding but I'll count this as one model.)

File folder with various papers in a variety of sizes.

33 things and 3 winners - 33 choses et 3 gagnantes

When I saw Elise's mini-book entitled "25 things to do while 25" earlier this year, I knew I wanted to do something similar. So mine is called "33 things to do at 33." I had this photo album for quite a few years. I removed the inner pages and used the covers to make my mini-book. I typed a list of 33 things I wish to accomplish before my next birthday. I'll fill the book whenever one of those goals is met. I'll show progress along the way.

And now... the winners of my giveaway... The random number generator picked numbers 1, 10 and 11 which are CeeCee, Pam and Laura! I will contact all 3 of you for your preference in prizes. Congratulations!

Mail art book - Livre d'art postal

Two years ago, I saw this idea to transform a book and fill it with all the postcards, greeting cards and letters I receive by mail. This book has actually been done for over a year now but for some reason, I never posted about it. Well, it's pretty filled up so I'm thinking of making a second one to hold the lovely mail art I received since then.

A look at the inside.
Un coup d'oeil à l'intérieur.
If I make a second book, I'll try to take step-by-step photos to show you how I did it.

Two new ATCs - Deux nouvelles CAÉs

Last night, because I was tired after my belly dance class, I wanted something quick and simple to do for today's post. So I made these two ATCs.
The frog was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and blended with odorless solvent and a paper stump.

The trees were coloured with watercolour paint.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already.

Back in August, Leigh-Ann, over at Freckled Nest, posted a needlebook tutorial. It's been on my to-do list since then and last night, I finally made one. So simple! So fun! And a great way to use leftover pieces of felt and sturdy fabrics (I used leather from an old thrifted coat for this one.)

A look at the inside of the book:

Birthday giveaway - Tirage de fête

As you might have guessed from this post's title, today I'm having a giveaway. And the reason is that it's my birthday. Since I've started blogging 5 days per week, I've created a lot of lovely things. Some I'm keeping but some need to find new homes. Not because I don't like them, quite the contrary. I just don't have any room for everything!

So, for this giveaway, you have the chance to win one of these pieces:
The "Be kind" mixed media piece.
L'oeuvre multimédia "Soyez gentil."

The "To hold" mixed media.
L'oeuvre multimédia "Tenir."

3 prizes, 3 winners. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post. You can tell me which of these pieces is your favourite. Of course, I will add a few things to each prize. You have until Sunday, October 24th at 10PM EST to enter. One comment per person (duplicates will be deleted) and be sure to leave a way for me to contact you if you win (email address, blog address, Facebook/Twitter/Flickr account...) The winners will be announced next Monday. Good luck!

3 prix, 3 gagnantes. Bonne chance!

Feminine... and a winner - Féminine... et une gagnante

I want to try making a journal page every day this week. Since I had 7 pages left to complete my two journals, I thought it would be a good challenge to fill them up in a week. We'll see how that goes as the week progresses.

Today, I'm showing you last night's page. Done in the smaller journal. I usually go for bolder colours for my background but decided to keep it soft this time. And the rest of the page came together from there. I used some supplies that I've been keeping for "that special project." I can always buy more if I really want to.

About the journaling: I've always felt like I have two sides to my personality. Sometimes, I want to be more feminine and classy, other times I want to be colourful and stand out from the crowd. I haven't found the perfect balance yet. (It's a Libra thing, I'm sure.)

Now, for the giveaway winner. I am very happy to announce that the winner is one of my newest readers: Marianne from Art Project 2010. Send me your mailing info at sophietousignant[at]videotron[dot]com and your prize will be in the mail shortly. Thanks to everyone who participated. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments you wrote.

***

As announced earlier this week, today is my 400th post on this blog. I don't really have anything special or profound to say but I do want to thank all of you who take the time to read my little posts and a big thank you to those who take even more time to comment. Every time I receive a new comment, it brightens my day a little more. So, to show my appreciation, I've decided to have a giveaway. All you need to do, for a chance to win, is to leave a comment on this post (or on Flickr, Facebook or Twitter.) One entry per person. Anyone, from anywhere may participate. The prize: a greeting card journal, a handmade brick wall rubber stamp, a spool collage and an envelop filled with fun papers. You have until July 18th 2010, 10pm to enter.

Good luck! And have a nice weekend!

Bonne chance! Et passez une belle fin de semaine!

One World One Heart Giveaway

Photo
Comments are now closed. Thanks for participating. Winners (3 of them) will be announced on Feb. 12th around 1pm EST.

It is that time of year again. The One World-One Heart event is starting today. Click on the badge to go to the main event's blog where you can find a list of everyone who is offering a giveaway for this year's event.

This year, I am giving away a handmade button keyring. Well actually, for every 100 comments, there will be a prize. So more entries = more prizes. Which gives you more chances to win.

The key rings are made from metal wire and a variety of buttons both old and new as well as a bead at the bottom (you can see the red bead on the green key ring.) Only 2 are pictured but as soon as comments go over 200, I will make another one. Or two. Or three! (Winners will NOT choose colours of their prize.)

So, how can you get a chance to win one of these fabulous prizes? Very easy. Leave ONE (1) comment on this post (not any other post on my blog) and have an active blog (meaning that you update it at least once a month) or a valid email address (leave it in the comments or have it on your Blogger profile). You do NOT need to be a OWOH participant. Anyone can participate BUT I need to have a way to contact winners. Most people follow these requirements but if there is no way for me to contact you, I will remove your name from the entries.

Winners will be announced on February 12th. Good luck!

I smell a GIVEAWAY

In honor of my 200th post, I am offering a GIVEAWAY. I thought I'd make this an even more personalized giveaway by making it "winner's choice." In the past, I have given away an altered canvas, altered slide mailers and an altered CD. I thought it would be a good idea to offer these prizes again but this time, the winners (yes, there will be more than one) will decide which prize they want, what colours I should use and a specific theme if they are so inclined. Of course, there will be other things included in the prize like a paper spool collage, an ATC and maybe other things too (have to keep some surprises, right?)

To be entered in this giveaway, all you have to do is comment on this post. You have until September 7th 11:59pm to be eligible. I'll announce the 2 winners on Monday the 8th. Good luck!

All you need to do for a chance to win this one of a kind piece of art (and maybe something else thrown in for good measure) is leave a comment on this post. You have until Sunday May 18th, 8PM for a chance to win.

Good luck!

Winners!!!

Wow! So I'm amazed at how many people came to comment on my giveaway. 204 bloggers! (One couldn't comment and emailed me so I included her.) I wanted to see what it would look like, on paper. So I numbered all the comments (after deleting double posts) and printed them before proceeding to cut them and fold them in half. I didn't have a hat big enough so this empty chocolate tin box made due.

Alright, alright. I'm getting to it.

Drum roll please!

And the winners are:

Laurie
Lori
GreenishLady

Thanks to everyone who commented and took the time (or will take the time) to visit the rest of my blog. I so enjoyed this little event that I'll probably do more giveaways in the future. Be sure to come visit again!

Regular blogging will return this weekend. In the meantime, you can go look at my Flickr account where all my Daily Art Cards have been posted and a few other creations too. Much love to the blogging community and especially to LisaOceanDreamer for hosting this wonderful event.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

One World One Heart Giveaway

Comments are now closed. Thanks for participating.

Okay! Here it is! My giveaway for the One World One Heart Event in Bloglandia!

Here's how it works. To be eligible for this giveaway, you must leave a comment on THIS POST (not any other) and have an ACTIVE blog. If you don't have one yet, it's easy to start one so go ahead and dive into blogging! And remember to visit the OWOH blog for all the other giveaways. There's is lots of beautiful stuff being offered out there so go look.

The prize: an altered slide mailer! This is the main prize as I plan to add little bits to the package but I don't know what yet (probably one of my paper spool collages of course!)

So again, for a chance to win, leave a comment on THIS POST and have an active blog. The winner will be picked on February 14th and announced on an UPDATED version of this post AND a new post.

Good luck and thanks for participating!

Edit on Feb 11th: There will be three winners for my giveaway. I'm in the process of making two more slide mailers (colours and images will vary) and will try to post pictures before the weekend.
Also, regular blogging will return after OWOH. I need more time to create for myself!

Edit on Feb 5th: Those who comment and don't have a blog listed on their Blogger profile, please make sure that you leave a link to an ACTIVE blog since this is an event to meet other bloggers. I started visiting the blogs listed and will continue to do so even after the event. This is NOT a giveaway just for "giving's sake." If you've already commented without leaving a way for me to see your blog, please email me a link at sophietousignant[at]videotron[dot]ca. Thank you.

Art Cards

Busy times. I've been asked to fill in for one of my coworkers yesterday and today morning. It's only one hour each time I do it but it's that much more money on my paycheck too! Plus, today we had an extended meeting (an hour and a half instead of the usual 30 minutes so even more money!) This morning, as I was on my walk, I kept thinking that this week is a great week for extra money (no particular reason other than I would like to have a bit more money these days.)

Yesterday was Catherine's Open House for the new Stampin Up! line and catalog. Lots of people showed up. It was fun. I saw an ex-coworker I hadn't seen since almost a year (we used to work together at the store) so that was nice.

A lot of busy days/weeks coming up. I might not be able to blog as regularly as I have lately but I will be creating daily! And I'll definitely blog for the OWOH giveaway. I know what I'm giving away now I just have to complete it! And I'll do that as soon as I put this post to bed. ;-)

Images for today are art cards from the last few days. The first and second one are my Daily Art Cards and the third is my fourth entry for the Deck Of Me Challenge. The theme was "a symbol you love" and I chose the fleur-de-lys, a symbol of my heritage (being french canadian and all...)
And apparently I have a thing for hearts these days!

Thanks for looking and come back before the weekend for the giveaway!

Art Cards, WIP, giveaway and life

So I've had this post open for 10 minutes and don't know what to type.

I slept in late today. I was exhausted apparently. It felt good. So far, I haven't been very productive. I did go grocery shopping. And not much cooking. I prepared a chick pea salad (dressing on the side) for the next few days. And the only actual cooking was wild rice to which I added canned tuna and whole kernel corn. A bit of lemony spices and olive oil and I had a simple yet delicious meal. No muffins today. I'll have time tomorrow morning seeing as I am filling in for one of my coworkers in the morning and will come back home afterwards.

I finally decided not to order from ArtChix this time around. Instead, I'll be ordering rubber stamps next week. I got a new DVD yesterday while shopping with mom: Moulin Rouge! One of my favourite movies. Ewan McGregor singing... Mmmm...

The first two images are my Art Cards for Friday and Saturday. The first one using supplies from ArtChix and the second one was done very quickly last night using rub-ons, a piece of newspaper, watercolour crayon, permanent marker for doodling, white acryclic ink with dip pen and gel pen for colouring the heart.

Finally, the last two images are works in progress. The first one is for Valentine ATCs and the second one is for my "connect" page for Emily's art journal challenge.

I finally decided what I'm giving away for the One World One Heart Giveaway. You'll get to see what it is and sign up for it some time this week. Be sure to visit the blog to have access to other giveaways. Some people already have them up on their blog and there's lots of interesting stuff!

I'm thinking of signing up for a Chunky Book Swap on the ArtChix Yahoo Group. Haven't made up my mind yet though. I still have time to think about it.

Well, that's it. It took me nearly one hour for this little post.
